E-01 Modifications

Mods are a system meant to allow for varied and interesting mobile suit designs and character progression in the RPG.  They are paid for with negative modifiers to your repair/replace rolls, amount varying on the usefulness of that specific mod.  Sometimes, additional costs may apply.   Do note that, if a mod has any non listed effect that is up to the player's creativity and discretion, it will be subject to staff approval.  

The mods allowed for the E-1 [Cadet] Rank are the following:

Environment Mods (Desert, Jungle, Marine)
Repair/Replace Modifier: [-2/+2] Repair modifier is based upon the environment the mobile suit is operating in or most recently operated in. the cost of the modification is -2, however having this modification installed while operating in the designated environment changes the repair modifier to a bonus instead of a penalty. For example, a Zaku I with a Jungle modification would receive a -2 penalty to repair rolls in any environment other than jungle, for a total modifier of +8 instead of +10. While within jungle environments, the same Zaku I would make repair rolls at +12.

In short, these mods provide basic environmental and situational bonuses, coming in the form of airtight joints, water adapted thrusters, improved ventilation system, among other effects that will allow a mobile suit pilot to perform optimally in a specific environment.  Each time one takes this mod, they may only benefit from one of the specific environmental adaptations, and additional adaptations are to be purchased separately.  This mod also helps players who have purchased it by improving their repair/replace rolls in missions in which they are in the environment they prepared for.
